Another step... just Trust and Obey.....

This past week has been very busy. But one of my highlights was purchasing my tickets to the Philippines! I am very excited to see how God will work on this missionary journey! Purchasing the tickets makes the whole trip seem so very real. Not that it wasn't before, but it brought on a fresh wave of excitement, nervousness, tension, worry... another chance to step back and say,
"God has provided before. If I am following His will for my life, then He has promised to provide."                                                                            EASY, right?
I know that God will work this out and provide and I do look forward to see how He will do it!

"Trust and Obey, for there's no other way, to be happy in Jesus, but to Trust and Obey"

Little is much!

As I write this post, the song "Little is much" comes to mind.
"As the harvest fields now ripen, there's a work for all to do. Hark the voice of God is calling. To the harvest, calling you! Little is much, when God is in it. Labor not for wealth or fame. There's a crown, and you can win it if you'll go, in Jesus' name."
This morning, I received an envelope from the church treasurer that was received in the offering. It said:
"Love: meeting someone's needs, expecting nothing in return, etc.
I know it doesn't meet all your need, but I give you this to help you because I love you and believe you're doing the right thing.(because you love God)- anonymous for Sarah Granquist and Philippine Missions"

What an encouragement! I have been struggling with having faith that God will provide and supply all my need. I admit, trusting that God will provide all the financial needs is hard, but I know He can AND WILL! He PROMISES to supply ALL my need! God is so wonderful! So, thank you to whoever sent me that note. You may never read this, but others will. I know that God placed that letter and $1.51 to remind me that He provides, even if it is through nickles and dimes!
Thank you Lord!

As I look at all that needs to be done in preparation for going to the Philippines, I begin to become overwhelmed. After all, there are books and equipment to purchase, questions to have answered, paperwork to finish, books to read and more questions to ask.
Then there are the finances to raise and the letters to write, the missions video to produce, and more letters to send out.
On top of all that there is the normal work, class and family life....

Busy, Hectic, Crazy... label it what you will... it is overwhelming!

Then I pause and remember the verse:

"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth." Psalm 46:10

God says "Be still" comma. He writes in the pause. As I ponder this verse I think upon how God knew that I would need that pause, the little pause to stop and reflect on how good God is.

When I think on that, it does not seem so overwhelming.... I have God on my side!

A video about Newlife International School of Midwifery, where I am serving as a missionary this fall! Very Exciting!
