De-worming and hoove trimming lessons

In God's Word we are referred to as the sheep of His pasture. I would not doubt that for a minute! We are so like sheep! Today, Dad and I had to take care of our sheep. They needed to have their de-worming shots and to have their hooves trimmed. Now our sheep don't find this task enjoyable. It reminded me of how God sometimes deals with us. He has us go through certain things that we may not understand. They may be painful, but they are for our ultimate good. There are a few different responses that we can have. I observed my sheep and some of them had the same responses. Let me illustrate my point.
We saw:

* the quite rebel... I will do what you say and follow your will, but I am arching my back and pulling away from you....
* the partial follower... I will follow and obey the first part of your plan, but I don't want the second part....
* the outspoken one.... I am not happy and will let everyone hear it..... you may do what you like but I will complain all the way.....
*the unstable minded... ok... now I want it, now I don't... do your will in my life, nope not now... yeah now..... nope I don't think so.....
* the out ward rebel.... I will not follow, I will not make it easy, I will not let you guide, I don't care if you know what is best... NO!
* the simple minded.... I don't know what is going on... I guess I will go.... ok... no that hurts... what is happening....
*the escape artist .... I will find a way out... I will not follow... I want my own path...
* the submissive follower.... I know that you know what is best... Yes it will hurt, but you have always cared for me... and you always will...

I saw each of these attitudes among my flock. Ultimately, the same end was reached. They all got their shots and hooves trimmed... like it or not! Isn't it the same with us though? God is in control. His way will be accomplished. Our attitude and outlook affects how we are viewed by others. It can either draw others toward or away from the LORD. Keep that in mind. Trials are hard, but God knows what is best. Follow Him.... The end is rest!

Summer Brings Change

So it has been a crazy summer. Really busy! I have decided that I am not returning to school (Pensacola Christian College) and am instead am taking a correspondence course from home. This brings a lot of questions from friends and family alike, but I know tthat God is leading. He always will lead you if you follow his will. In Genesis Abraham's servant says "I being in the way, the Lord led me." (Genesis 24:27) That is how I feel. I was not looking to leave school, but I followed his will and he showed me that it was time to move on. I am now on my path to becoming a midwife. So, besides all that, I will be taking a course at my local church. That as well as being busy with work will keep me quite busy. The Lord has really been blessing my life in many ways. Through my family, friends and animals. I have had fun just working on the farm and doing school. God Bless!

In Christ Alone

"In Christ alone my hope is found."
How true. Just yesterday I found out that one of my friends from school died in a tragic kayaking accident. I was saddened, but know that the two girls are in a much better place. Last night my sister and I shared the song "In Christ Alone" with our church family. The last verse really made me stop and think.
"No guilt in Life, no fear in death. This is the power of Christ in me. From life's first cry, to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny. No power of hell, no fear of man can ever pluck me from His hand. Till He returns or calls me home, Here in the power of Christ I'll stand."
I will miss you Carissa, but I know that you are in a much better place. I pray that her testimony will continue on. The link below is an online article about their deaths.

Stealling the dough

Take time to laugh....
Mom is making cookies, little sis is helping. I watch. I see chocolate chips and brown sugar... mmmm. As soon as their backs are turned, that is when I strike... Oh no! Little one saw me! I pull a finger silently to my mouth. She giggles. Quick as a flash I grab a spoonful of dough and shove it in my mouth in time to dodge Mom's gaze. Little one laughs, as do I ... Mom saw it all (they really do have eyes in the back of their heads!). I laughed... "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine" Proverbs 17:22

God is sooooo Good!

Do you just stop and think of how good God is?
I mean really stop and think... How many blessings He has given to His children!
We are a royal priesthood the Bible says. With that in mind, take a moment and think... Just think of all that our Father has given us. The greatest gift by far is the gift of Salvation... Whereby we are all children of the King!
